CLG:  Opening Bell: Shiitake Mushrooms, Sweet Potatoes, Coffee, Honey!

Good afternoon!
Late this week we should finally see more seasonal temperatures. I shared that news with my hens this morning, and, maybe it’s just me, but I would swear I could see smiles on their little beaks, except for Buttons, who gave me the stank eye.

There are fewer available eggs right now because many chickens are molting, which means they are losing their old feathers and making new feathers. When this happens, the new feathers require calcium so no eggs are produced for several weeks. What emerges Is a well-rested hen who is ready to get back to producing 4-7 eggs per week.

Check out the awesome selection of locally roasted coffee now available from RoZark Hills Coffee Roasterie. Did somebody say coconut rum coffee? Yes, please.

We’ve been having a lot of excellent items on the extra table lately. Earlier shoppers get the best selection. We are normally ready for customers to start arriving around 3 PM if you happen to be out and in the area. Just text me to see if we’re ready.

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Four instance, type in the word “sale”and see what pops up. We have over 550 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping:

Please check your email a few minutes after you place your order to make sure you get an order confirmation. Thanks!

Stones River Market:  Market is OPEN -- See you Wednesday

Welcome to this weeks Market. The Market is open on Sunday Morning at 8 am and closes Monday evening at 10 pm. Order early before quantities available run out!

Good Morning to another beautiful Fall morning in Middle Tennessee, sad to see September leaving but October always welcomes wonderful seasonal items. Several ‘Fall’ items have been added to the Market; numerous Apples varieties, Sweet Potatoes, Radishes, Apple Butter and Pear Preserves. Our Meat Growers have several items for Game Day events and grilling.

News from Our Growers:

Rainbow Hill Farm: Apples this week: Rome, Jonathan, Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Mutsu, Red Delicous, Rhode Island Greening, Winesap and Yellow Delicous.

Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Try our shrub offerings for a refreshing, nutritious and tasty drink. Wolfberry Mint, Ginger Fig and Pear Spice. We have some larger sizes of both our herbal honey and shrubs. We also have Herbal POWER Balls and Golden Pecan Bites available.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: Perfect time for planting perennials! It’s been really dry, and I still don’t see rain in the forecast, so you will need to water-water-water! But the weather is great and the ground still nice and warm, which will encourage plants to put down good strong roots. These new roots will help them to come through the winter in fine shape.

BB’s Gourmet Pretzels: All our Pretzels are perfect for any occasion, do not forget we also carry Gluten Free Pretzel varieties and Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cookies.

The Creole Diva: Camellia Red Beans and Rice, Creole Jambalaya and Dirty Rice Mixes are a easy and delicious meal anytime. Spice up your favorite dish with Salt Free Cajun Seasoning.

Oakview Farm: We have Green Beans and Apple Butter this week.

Flying S Farms: We’ve added Cherry Belle Radishes and Daikon Radishes, Apple Butter and Pear Preserves. Planning to have our Jams and Jellies restocked by next week.

Remember October 23rd from 5-6:30 pm we will have our “Taste of Fall” event and a Gift Certificate Drawing. Several of Our Growers will have items available and information about what to expect during the Fall and Winter months and you will have a chance to win a $25, $10 or $5 Gift Certificate to the Market. When you place an order your name is entered into the drawing. There are 3 markets remaining until the drawing on October 23rd, place your order, it could be YOU!

Good morning!

The market is open for ordering this morning, as usual. Please remember to check for new items in all the categories, since I haven’t checked through to see what’s new. (I think there are a few returning items in the fresh cut herbs.) I will try to get a newsletter out Sunday or Monday. Feel free to place your order early, and then add a second order if you see something else that you like. Thank you, and see you Thursday or Friday at your choice of pickup location.

Please bless your managers (who donate their time) and farmers, and forward this message to at least one friend who might be interested in encouraging local small business!

Blessings,
Linda & Michael

This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION right after you order then your order is NOT complete. Log back in and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! Growing Together :  Availability for October 1st

We can’t believe it’s almost October! We’ve still got a great variety of summer and fall veggies – and it hardly feels like fall with this heat!

We are really excited about the Hibiscus calyx we have right now – great for making tea or jam!

And it’s lettuce galore at the garden right now. Romaine, Magenta, and lettuce mix are all looking beautiful.

Check out the market and as always, thanks for your support!
