CLG:  Opening Bell: Cheese, Apples, Honey, Pecans!

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday break, even though things can get hectic and stressful at times. Let’s coast through the last couple of days of 2019 and look forward to the new year. If you want to eat healthier, make it a priority to include at least one locally produced food item in every meal. Our Growers work hard to give us lots of options for delicious and healthy food so look around the market and see what’s available every week.

Check it out: White River Creamery has new cheese varieties listed in limited quantities. St. Joseph Urban Farm has some nice veggies, including beautiful Cherokee lettuce, green onions, and leafy greens. Organic lettuce is available from Rattle’s Garden, and Drewry Orchard has some amazing apples! The ground isn’t frozen so now is a great time to plant some Best in Show garlic plants from Cedar Rock Ridge. You’ll be harvesting big, beautiful heads of garlic in June.

Remember to feed our feathered friends during the colder months when fewer bugs are available. We will have suet cakes for birds on the extras table every Friday for only $1.

We’ve been having a lot of excellent items on the extra table lately. Earlier shoppers get the best selection. We are normally ready for customers to start arriving around 3 PM if you happen to be out and in the area. Just text me to see if we’re ready.

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Four instance, type in the word “sale” and see what pops up. We have over 500 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping:

Please check your email a few minutes after you place your order to make sure you get an order confirmation. Thanks!

End of Year Donations: 100% Tax Deductible!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !

IT’S THE SEASON OF GIVING

GREENEVILLE FARMERS MARKET is a small NON-PROFIT that depends on outside Financial Support. Currently revenue from our  vendors only covers 60% of our cost. The remainder must come from the Community-At-Large. Giving a gift to Greeneville Farmers Market means supporting the dreams  of local farmers, food artisans, crafters and artist: Creating a  locally owned and operated working market where Producers can sell directly to their community and keep more of the profit in their own pockets. You are also helping them provide for their families by shopping with them each week, May to October at our physical market and Year Round, with our online market. Your gift will have a real impact on the communities we serve: Putting your donations to work in the fields, in the market and on to our tables across Greene County and East Tennessee. We are a 501©3 Non-Profit Organization that has been serving the Greene County area for over three decades.   YOUR GIFT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE !

We have needs each year, such as Rent, Insurance, Banking Fees, Office Supplies, Special Events Cost . Those are just a few of the cost in running a farmers market.
Can You Spare just $5 or more one time, or one time a month, to help us meet all these needs?

Or if you would rather Donate something on our wish list:
Tents for vendors who cannot afford  their own.
Tables for vendors and special events
Folding Chairs
Secure Storage Shed
Prizes, Gifts for any or all of our special events held during the market season.

Or Volunteer some of your time:
Volunteers year round to help with office.
Volunteers to plan and run events during the market season.
