Fresh Harvest, LLC:  Fresh Harvest for August 19th

Market News

Hello!

We’ve got lots of great produce for you this week! It’s the time of year when summer crops slightly overlap with Fall crops, and the diversity of offerings increases! It’s a great time for food!

Lots of watermelons and okra, and peppers are coming in!

And don’t forget your meats! Our meat farmers are the best Nashville has to offer and we are proud to work with them! They raise their animals in a conscientious and humane way, and the care and expertise is apparent in the quality of their product. Don’t settle for less!!

We’ve got flowers and also a selection of dried herbs for tea – both are organically grown and recently harvested and dried, so are of top quality and taste. They are delicious hot or cold!

Thanks for your support, and we will see you on Wednesday!

John and Tally

Yalaha, FL:  Count Down for Fall Produce

Order now through 5 pm August 23rd for August 24th Pickup, note that is Friday this week as the weekend might be busy (or contact me if you want a different day, we do have some flexibility.)

I have started the Fall Planting. Kale Seeds etc started so if all goes well, perhaps, we will have leafy greens available come October. Sorry, though I’m still trying to grow lettuce I doubt there will be any surplus of lettuce for sale till October.

Dog days of summer are here, Only a small few assorted things available. Summer in Florida means only limited things grow well and most farms take summer as a down time for cleaning, re-building, and taking a vacation. We are no different.

Remember to tell me when you want to pick up!

Send me a message if you are interested in Getting Channel Catfish.

If you have any particular requests, let me know I’m happy to grow to order.

After meeting in the lobby for the past 2 weeks, we will be moving back to the Parish Hall on Friday. Thank you all for your flexibility!

We got over 6 inches of much needed rain last week so the gardens have perked back up nicely. Look for Eggplant, Peppers, Melons, Tomatillos, Collards, etc.

We are happy to once again provide Shiitake Mushrooms from Sweden Creek Farm (Kingston, Arkansas). These mushrooms are log grown on white oak logs, not the inferior sawdust cultured mushrooms commonly available.

Brighten someone’s day (or week) and order a beautiful fresh cut bouquet from Bell Urban Farm. They last a long time and look amazing!

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Over 650 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

MARKET NEWS
Sunday August 20, 2018,

Hello Market Members
As many of you are aware I have had back pain issues for a while, my Doctors are counseling me to “take the time for recovery”. During the recovery time for my back issues, I have physical restrictions on what I can do, bending, lifting, twisting & driving

We do need some volunteers to assist with sorting and managing pickup points, Dunnellon & Lecanto. Are you feeling called to assist in sharing the goals of improving Locally Grown Produce availability, Improving Local Family Farm Incomes, while reducing carbon foot prints please contact Michael – 352-895-3942 or Amy 650-465-3231.
I look forward to seeing you in September.
